Introduction to Ice-Cream Making

Spend the day with ice-cream maker extraordinaire Kitty Travers of La Grotta Ices and make your own frozen delights.

With spoons at the ready delve into a day of ice-cream making and discover how various ingredients and different freezing methods can influence the texture and flavour of your ice-cream.

Kitty Travers will share her expertise as you learn the simple methods of making custard based ice-creams, granita, parfaits and fruit sorbets.

Recipes will include made-by-hand techniques as well as methods using an ice cream machine.

The course will end with a grand tasting.


This course includes light refreshments and lunch.

All ingredients, equipment and recipes are provided by the School.
