Foraging through Welbeck
This one-day course will open your eyes to the wonderful world of foraging.
Venture out into the beautiful grounds of The Welbeck Estate, rambling around with our professional forager, while identifying the most common edibles that are right on your doorstep.
Armed with your forager’s basket, our forager extraordinaire will first teach you how to accurately identify each species, including tips on avoiding potential look-a-likes, and share their insight into how seasonally foraged ingredients can be used in a variety of recipes and dishes.
Upon arrival you will be greeted with pastries and refreshments, followed by a walk around the estate. Heading back to the School for lunch, all prepared by our team of chefs, to refuel and rehydrate.
During the afternoon we'll head back outside to complete another small foraging walk. Our professional forager will demonstrate wild cooking outdoors (weather dependant), including a little tasting session.
The School of Artisan Food is nestled in Sherwood Forest, Nottinghamshire, just a few minutes from the A1 and M1.
Please wear suitable clothing for the weather conditions and remember to bring a note pad if you’d like to take notes and a camera if you’d like to take pictures.
This course is suitable for vegetarians and vegans.
