Jo Parry

Jo Parry has over 38 years of experience working in the hospitality industry in various catering venues, including festivals and catering for outside events. Jo turned her attention to teaching in further education 20 years ago and has trained over 1000 chefs in colleges and the industry. Her latest role has been working in rehabilitation and offender learning, which she continues to do alongside her tutoring role at The School of Artisan Food.

Jo’s skill set is vast, but she will be joining us as our first-year patisserie tutor on the FdSc Artisan Food Production course.

Jo makes and decorates celebration cakes and undertakes professional development with some of her ex-students, who have restaurants of their own. As a result, Jo is still actively working within the industry staying up to date with trends and food fashions. These current workplace skills enable Jo to transfer that knowledge to her students to help them stay relevant in the ever-changing food world.

“Watching people learn and grow, is why I love this job. I can make a real difference in changing people’s lives and give them an opportunity to train to work in an industry I have cherished working in and being a part of.”
