Best Food Forward - For Secondary School Teachers and Leaders is a full-day CPD session held at The School of Artisan Food. The course incorporates both practical and theoretical learning.

This course is specifically designed for teachers of Food Preparation and Nutrition, as well as Hospitality and Catering. This course aims to enhance the practical skills of the teachers and enable them to use artisan techniques in order to improve their knowledge for practical assessments. Throughout the course, we will delve into the development of complex skills in the classroom and highlight the advantages of promoting the use of artisan techniques. 

Key elements 

• The practical component of this course involves preparing a full complex dish that requires skills such as portioning a chicken, creating artisan pasta, preparing a veloute sauce, baking artisan bread and many more.
• The recipes for all the dishes will provide insight into how to adapt them to suit your cohort and timing in 50-minute to 2-hour lessons. 
• We will provide recipes and assessment sheets for these practicals and a description of how these can be used to enhance the 3-hour practical exam for GCSE Food Preparation and Nutrition and for Hospitality and Catering assessments.

Join this course to help students unlock their potential in the culinary arts. This course is aimed at teachers trying to advance their knowledge and develop highly skilled sessions to enable students to achieve grades 7-9 in their practical assessment as part of the NEA 2.
