Beer & Cheese Tasting Session

From the nutty, caramel aromas found in both aged cheese and stouts to the relationship between rich barley and our favourite blues, you’ll discover a variety of mouth-watering combinations during this afternoon tasting session.

You will be guided through your beer and cheese tasting experience by the head brewer of the Welbeck Abbey Brewery, Claire Monk and the School's dairy expert Katy Fenwick. You’ll sample a wide selection of artisan cheeses from across the British Isles, paired with a range of hand-crafted beers from the Welbeck Abbey Brewery.

Cheeses tasted on this course may be produced with raw milk and animal rennet, please contact us for details.

Great short course. Enthusiastic and knowledgeable young brewer and cheese maker led the course. They were terrific. Learnt a lot in a short time in a great venue.'

Judith Fewkes
Really enjoyed the course. It was an anniversary gift from my wife. She chose well (marrying me that is AND the gift!!). Educational but informal. 4 cheeses with 4 well matched beers. I went in not a fan of blue cheese but the Colton Basset converted me. The instructors made it fun. I happened to be on the best table!! I went on my own but ended up in with two small groups on a long table. By shear coincidence I was sat next to a Medical Professor who I soon figured out was overseeing my father's treatment for Leukaemia!! Thoroughly recommended. I was last to leave, couldn't believe people were leaving cheese behind!! If the instructors didn't want to leave I would stayed back an finished the lot.
