Best Food Forward - For Secondary School Teachers and Leaders is a full-day CPD session held at The School of Artisan Food. The course incorporates both practical and theoretical learning.

This course is aimed at Food Preparation and Nutrition teachers interested in enriching their curriculum to include more content on sustainability and environmental impact. We will delve into food sustainability, practical food skills, behaviour change theory and how to deliver this content in an accessible way to KS3 students.

Key elements

  • This course includes practical and theoretical components. During the practical aspect, we will cover skills including high-level vegetable prep, artisan bread making, using sustainable ingredients and no-waste techniques.
  • The theory element will include an introduction to sustainability and how to introduce it at a KS3 level in practical and theory lessons. We will provide all the necessary resources for interesting and engaging theory lessons. The content can be extended over one to three lessons, making it a comprehensive unit of work.

Join us to help students learn to make mindful and informed choices about food, including cost, availability, seasonality, sustainability, and reducing food waste. Our resources are available in digital and paper formats and can be tailored to your specific needs.
