Join us this festive period to celebrate the classic British favourite, the hand-raised pork pie.
On this one-day course, your expert tutor Sally-Ann Hunt will lead you through every step of the process to design and make your own hand-raised pies.
Sally will guide you every step of the way as you dive into the art and craft of pie making, starting with mastering the skill of preparing and shaping a delicious hot water pastry crust.
She will also help you add your own unique touch, or give your pies a seasonal twist, by getting creative with different designs and flavours, all using the best locally-sourced pork and ingredients.
Subjects may include:
- Hot Water Pastry
- Savoury pork pies
- Scotch eggs
No prior pie making experience is necessary; just enthusiasm and a willingness to work alongside other food lovers.
The School of Artisan Food is on the Welbeck Estate in the heart of Sherwood Forest, Nottinghamshire, just a few minutes from the A1 and M1.
Refreshments will be available throughout the day, including a buffet-style lunch. All ingredients, equipment, and recipes will be provided.
The School of Artisan Food makes a conscious effort to waste and packaging. Students are welcome to bring their own containers to transport their food home.
